Privacy Policy

CalcHero (calchero.app) is operated by Orion Forge, an independent web studio. This Privacy Policy explains what information is collected when you use CalcHero, how it is used, and your rights regarding that information.

CalcHero calculators run entirely in your browser. No calculation inputs, results, or any data you enter into any calculator are ever sent to our servers or stored anywhere.

We do not collect:

• Calculator inputs or outputs of any kind.
• Your name, email address, or any personal identification.
• Account information — CalcHero requires no registration or login.
• Payment data — CalcHero is entirely free.

We use Google Analytics 4, loaded through Google Tag Manager, to understand how CalcHero is used in aggregate. This helps us identify which calculators are most useful and improve the service over time.

Google Analytics collects:

• Pages visited and approximate time spent on each page.
• Referring website (e.g. if you arrived from a search engine).
• General device type, operating system, and browser version.
• Country-level location derived from your IP address. IP addresses are anonymised and not stored in full.

This data is aggregated and anonymous. It cannot be used to identify you personally. Google acts as a data processor on our behalf and processes data under its own privacy terms. You can review Google's data practices at policies.google.com.

To opt out of Google Analytics across all websites, you can install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on available from Google, or use a browser extension that blocks tracking scripts.

CalcHero displays advertisements served by Google AdSense to support the free operation of the service. Google may use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to CalcHero and other websites.

Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visit to CalcHero and/or other sites on the internet. You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting adssettings.google.com.

CalcHero does not pass any personally identifiable information to Google AdSense.

The Currency Converter calculator fetches live exchange rates from open.er-api.com, a third-party exchange rate provider. When you use this calculator, your browser makes a standard HTTP request to that API to retrieve current rates.

This request contains no personal data — only the standard technical information included in any browser request (such as your IP address, as seen by their server). CalcHero has no control over how open.er-api.com processes this request. Please refer to their privacy policy for details.

CalcHero itself does not set first-party cookies for tracking or identifying users.

Third-party services we use (Google Analytics and Google AdSense) may set cookies on your device to function. These are subject to Google's cookie policy. You can manage or delete cookies at any time through your browser settings.

Because CalcHero does not collect personal data directly, there is nothing for us to retain or delete. Analytics data collected by Google Analytics is retained according to the retention period configured in our Google Analytics account (currently 14 months), after which it is automatically deleted by Google.

If you are located in the European Economic Area, you have the following rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR):

• Right of access — you can request a copy of any personal data we hold about you.
• Right to erasure — you can request deletion of your personal data.
• Right to object — you can object to the processing of your data for analytics or advertising purposes.
• Right to restriction — you can ask us to limit how we use your data.
• Right to portability — you can request a machine-readable copy of your data.

Since CalcHero does not store personal data directly, most of these rights are exercised with our third-party processors (Google). To exercise your rights, contact us at support@calchero.app and we will respond within 30 days.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority. In France, this is the Commission Nationale de l'Informatique et des Libertés (CNIL) at cnil.fr.

CalcHero is not directed at children under the age of 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through our service, please contact us and we will take steps to remove it.

CalcHero contains links to other websites in our ecosystem (Converthor, TextUtils, JsonUtils) and may display links through advertisements. These third-party sites operate under their own privacy policies. We are not responsible for their content or data practices.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal reasons. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.

Continued use of CalcHero after any update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.

This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of France and is intended to comply with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Any disputes relating to this policy shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts of France.
